Leading industrial business group, operating in various sectors such as Domestic appliance manufacturing, Construction, energy, Steel, pulp and paper and others wanted to assess the potential sourcing opportunities in Asia.
Objective
Client wanted us to assess the possibility of sourcing raw materials in wide range of categories and products including chemicals, Metals, plastic films, Grinding Media, fabric filters, steel wire, etc.
The phase 1 of the project was Product categories prioritization from Asian supply market.
Approach

Top Asian Countries were identified and selected and from among top exporting Countries.

Prioritization criteria was determined with agreed criteria's & weight for categories ranking.

Procurement intelligence was done on agreed criteria's to name a few, spend value in US$, number of identified suppliers, domestic overall production in volume, logistic cost, import regulation and duties and others.
Result
Based on our insights, It helped client to understand the supply market in the target region and shortlist key sourcing destinations that could help save costs. Client was able to make better decisions in terms of Strategic Sourcing process.
